Technical Experience
My Current Projects:
- My Hugo Website is built using the Hugo static site generator that uses markdown files to generate HTML, utilizing templates to keep a cohesive appearance. The site uses the Tailbliss theme, which uses Alpine.js and TailwindCSS to give an aesthetic appearance. As well as the Decap-CMS that makes use of a self-hosted OAuth server to restrict access, allowing me to make edits to the site, on the site.
- Personal SearXNG Instance uses docker to run a personal instance of the SearXNG MetaSearch engine on a self maintained Linode cloud server.
- Linode server, as previously mentioned, hosts my instance of SearXNG, as well as a private VPN using WireGuard on a docker container, and a private VS-Code server. Set up to require ssh key pair for ssh authentication, and utilizes 2 Factor-Authentication, keeping the server relatively secure as well as minimizing access to the VS-Code server as ssh port forwarding is required for access.
- C/C++ Projects:
- Tic-Tac-Toe using the mini-max algorithm to with adjustable search depth, to give a variable difficulty from hard to lose - impossible to win. Game board is stored in two separate unsigned integer variables assigned to both players, and uses bitwise operations to validate legal moves, set the bit that corresponds to the board locations, as well as to check if the board is currently in a win-state or a draw-state.
- Conway’s Game of Life, built using both the NCurses library for terminal applications, and the SFML graphical library. Uses a single Cell class that inherits from the sf::RectangleShape SFML class. The Cell class uses a bool variable to track if it is live or dead, and a count of the neighboring live cells, and due to the class extending the sf::RectangleShape class, it allows for smoother updating of cell status and the graphical representation.
- Several others, linked-list, stack, and other data structures, implementation of the kilo text editor, and networking projects using the standard unix socket libraries, as well as using the standalone Asio library.
- 4–5 years of using Manjaro Linux as my primary OS. Manjaro is a distribution based off of Arch Linux, with an automated simple installer. Set up several Linux Kernel Virtual Machines (KVM) using the qemu/kvm virtual machine manager. Created a Windows Kernel Virtual Machine that made use of GPU passthrough, the GPU would be disconnected from the host operating system by unhooking the GPU drivers which would then give the virtual machine access to reserving the GPU to be used without emulation, as a gaming system under the Linux OS. Using virtual machines, I manually installed Arch Linux.
- Personally manage DNS for my domain name via Cloudflare, and utilize Cloudflare pages to host the Hugo website ‘serverlessly’, with all website data stored and updated using GitHub.
